The character of one mature artist always has close relation with his own self-cultivation��knowledge
structure and the comprehension to art.. Yizi has strong-points of these, so the
development of his own art is so nature, and hasn't any eisegesis.
In the last ten years, Yizi has crossed the researching��melting��seeking steps . There
is a chain through these steps. All the circles of the chain are connected closely, the
later one is the development of the former one, they created the nature of this art.
During 1985 and 1989, Yizi put more energy in absorbing and understanding the spirit of
the traditional landscape painting. The works of artists Cheng Hong Shou of Ming Dynasty,
Ren Buo Nian of Tsing Dynasty influenced him so much. Most of his works in this era are
landscape sketches. The lines of the works are comfortable and vivid. These works avoided
following the common style, but had no obvious character.
The year of 1990-1992, was the time that Yizi changed his idea at all. He left his
hometown Hengsui - the cradle of him, went to an unaquatint city- Shijiazhuang and devoted
himself to the revolution of the inside-painting art. At this time, he was tired of the
common operation way of the art, and began to concern the spirit of the art. Break up the
stiff routine of the structure, strengthened the transformation of the rhythm of the
picture, using more abundant skill (include absorb the color and sculpt of the western
painting) to express the felling of the character. During this time, the structure of his
works is tending to perfect, and he used more combination of line and surface. The
representative works of this time are" The tale of Liao mansion" " Stories
of three kingdoms."
